VPM’s CEO Receives Worldwide Recognition

Vulcan Park and Museum’s President and CEO, Darlene Negrotto, was named a finalist in the 8th Annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards, hailed as the world’s premier business awards, honors women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run – worldwide. The category for which she was nominated is “Best Executive – Non-Profit or Government – Up to 100 Employees.”

Finalists in Negrotto’s category included high-profile nonprofit executives Lauren Bush, Co-Founder and CEO of FEED; Alicia Weaver, Mayor of the City of Taos, MO; and Avis Richards, Founder of Birds Nest Foundation, New York, NY; among others. More than 1,300 candidates – a record for the competition – were considered this year for 75 categories. 

Finalists in the competition were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.  Members of six final judging committees selected Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.  More than 200 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process this year.
