The Westin Birmingham is one of 9 lifestyle brands under the parent company Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.  Opening in January 2013, the guests of the Westin will experience a refreshing retreat infused with traditional Southern hospitality and design.  The hotel comprises 294 guest rooms, including four suites, all with the signature Westin Heavenly Bed®.  The hotel will also have over 10,000 square feet of meeting space.  The goal of the Westin Birmingham is that you leave feeling better than when you arrived.  Recharge with the sustained energy that comes from a thorough session in our WestinWORKOUT® Gym, or spend a relaxing afternoon by the pool.  The Westin Birmingham will be LEED certified and will participate in Starwood’s Global Sustainability Program.

Gretchen Scott has been with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (Parent Company to the Westin Birmingham) for 9 years.  In April 2012, she was named the Complex Business Travel Sales Manager for The Westin Birmingham & Sheraton Hotel.  Prior to that, she was a Group Sales Manager at both the JW Marriott Hotel and the Le Meridien Hotel in New Orleans.

Gretchen has 1 son, Wyatt who’s 7 years old.  She loves to travel, spend time with her son and working on her favorite hobby – amateur photography.  Whether she is working around the house or enjoying her favorite hobby, she is sure to have music on.  Gretchen is a big fan of all types of music from Jazz, modern rock, and country.  Just recently she participated in the 2012 Warrior Dash.
