Welcome New Firms and Representatives

The EWI Birmingham Chapter is pleased to welcome three new member firms.  Representatives from Payroll & Benefit Solutions (Jane Barnett), Birmingham Business Journal (Courtney Sanak), and ARI Logistics (Michelle Layfield) were installed at the October Chapter Meeting held at B & A Warehouse. 

Jane Barnett joined the Business Development team at Payroll & Benefit Solutions in May of 2014.  She is responsible for business growth activities centered on networking and relationship building with area business owners.  Jane graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS and Master’s degrees.  She is currently a member of the Birmingham Business Alliance, the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce, and the Autism Society of Alabama Junior Board.  She has been married for over a year and enjoys reading, running, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Courtney Sanak works as an Event Manager at the Birmingham Business Journal.  Her role is to develop, plan and organize events for the organization.  She is responsible for all operational implementation and post-event activities, including the promotion and marketing of events.  Courtney is a board member of the Central Alabama Hospitality Attractions and Business Association (CAHABA) serving as the Community Service Chair, the Southeastern Blind Rehabilitation Center and the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Auburn University.  Courtney enjoys hiking with her husband and dogs, staying active, and traveling.

Michelle Layfield is the Controller at ARI Logistics.  She graduated from UAB in 2004 with a degree in Accounting.  She currently serves on the Jr. Board for First Light Women’s and Children’s Shelter in downtown Birmingham.  She has been married for 16 years and has two beautiful girs, 8 and 3 years old.  Michelle is expecting her first boy in February 2016.
