Executive Women International: Birmingham, AL

Education Program

Executive Women International is committed to the international promotion of literacy, our philanthropy focus since 1992. EWI Chapters across North America have enlisted the aid of corporations, writers, teachers, and many others to promote reading and writing opportunities to children.

The Birmingham Chapter has held numerous reading initiatives (Reading Rallies) with elementary students from sponsoring a reading day at Vulcan Park and Museum for Tarrant Elementary’ s 5th grade, reading to the Lovelady Center’s Children, and holding a back to school program with John Croyle’s Big Oak Ranch students .

In 2014, our Chapter partnered with Junior Achievement of Greater Birmingham to administer JA programs to 275 students in grades Three to Five at Hayes K – 8 School in Birmingham.  Books were donated to all of the teachers and students once the sessions were complete.  The Birmingham Chapter continued this program again in 2015.
